Everything Vivink does. Up close.

Every pen, page, tool and setting — every part of a live session, a website shown live on your board, and the teachers you invite — labelled and explained. And every one of them is in every plan.

Fig. 1 — The anatomy

One page. Every part, labelled.

Vivink as it looks today: the top bar, the page and the pen dock. Every part is numbered, drawn and explained below.

Shown in Monochrome, the default look. Settings → Theme has nine.

The top bar

Left to right. On a narrow screen it folds the buttons you need least into More, the three dots.

  1. 1Your notes & NewOpens the list of your notes — folders, pins, search and Recently deleted. Beside it, New starts a blank note (Alt N).
  2. 2Title, date · SavedTap the name to change it; an untitled note names itself from what you wrote. Under it, the date, and Saved once every stroke is kept on this device.
  3. 3Board switch⇄ jumps back to the board you used just before (or press `). ▦ shows your recent slides and boards.
  4. 4Auto · Write · ScrollWhat your finger does. Auto: finger or Pencil writes; a resting hand is ignored. Write: one finger writes, two move the page. Scroll: the finger moves the page, only the Pencil writes. Each one’s first pick shows a short tip.
  5. 5Insert · Paper · ExportInsert a photo, a video, a file or slides — and a website, once you turn it on in Settings. Paper: its colour and lines. Export the note as a PDF or a picture.
  6. 6RecordTurns your lesson into a video: the page, your voice and your face — or, on a computer, the whole screen.
  7. 7LiveYour board on a TV, or on every student’s phone by a link and a QR code. The red number is how many are watching; a hand on its corner means a student asks to speak. All of it is in Fig. 6.
  8. 8Undo, Redo & MoreUndo goes back up to 300 steps. More, the three dots, holds Full screen, Focus and Settings — where Theme offers nine looks.

The page

  1. 9The pageOne endless page, A4 pages or 16:9 slides — on any of 15 papers and boards, with 13 line styles.

The pen dock

Left to right. Dock it at the bottom or on either side — or let it float.

  1. 10Lock & minimiseLock keeps the dock where it is. Minimise folds it into one round button.
  2. 11Ten pens & the eraserBallpoint to Highlighter, each card showing its real ink on your paper. Tap the pen you’re holding for its sizes and colours.
  3. 12Size & colourA bar as thick as your ink. Tap it for three quick sizes, a slider, and a colour picker that remembers your recent colours.
  4. 13Teaching toolsThe lasso, fill, the laser pointer, move, the ruler and the geometry box.
  5. 14ResizeDrag it to make the dock bigger or smaller.

Fig. 2 — The pens

Ten pens. One real engine.

Every word below is written live by Vivink's own ink engine — the same code that runs in the app.

The eraser.

Touch a stroke and it's gone — whole strokes, fills and text. The eraser end of your stylus erases too.

Any size. Any colour.

Each pen has three quick sizes, a slider from half the finest to twice the boldest, its own colours — and a colour picker that remembers your recent ones.

Fig. 3 — Writing aids

Your hand, steadied.

Vivink keeps your writing yours — just calmer, neater and exact where it should be.

Beautify.

Shaky lines come out smooth; corners stay sharp, and the little hooks where the pen lands and lifts are trimmed.

Rest your hand. Write.

Lean on the screen like it’s paper. One switch in the top bar decides what your finger does, and the first time you pick each mode a small card says so. Try it.

Auto: write with your finger or the Pencil. When you use the Pencil, your resting hand is ignored.

Hold the pen still for a moment and it grabs the page instead — move it without switching tools.

Slides

One 16:9 board at a time, edge to edge — for teaching and presenting.

Fig. 5 — Teach

A whole classroom, on one page.

Your slides, a geometry box, a laser — everything you need to show, point and explain. To teach live, see Fig. 6.

Your slides.

Save a PowerPoint, Keynote or Canva deck as a PDF — or pictures — and add it with Insert → Slides to teach on. Every page becomes a board, in order. Write on any of them.

  • Blank board after any slide — room to work things out.
  • Move through them with ← →, PgUp/PgDn, a swipe or the wheel.
  • “Next” on the last slide makes a new board.
  • Drag the slide strip anywhere, and resize it.
  • Delete a slide with two taps — and what’s written on it.

The geometry box.

Lay them on the page, move them, turn them with two fingers, resize them — and lines run straight along their edges.

Laser pointer.

Point at anything. The red glow follows your pen — and fades by itself.

Photos, videos, files.

Put them right on the page — then move them, resize them and write over your photos. Videos play where they sit; files open with a tap.

Board switcher.

⇄ jumps back to the last board (or press `). ▦ lists your recent ones.

Lasso, fill and fix.

Circle anything you wrote to move it, resize it from the corner, recolour it, fill it, duplicate or delete it — then flip, turn or mirror it. The paint bucket fills any closed space, even with small gaps.

Fig. 6 — Live

Your session, live.

Tap Live: your board shows on the TV, and on every student’s phone as you write. Then run the session from the same place — who gets in, who speaks, who came.

On the TV. On every phone.

Tap Live in the top bar. Your board appears on the TV, or on every student’s phone — stroke by stroke, as you write.

  • Show on a TV — open Vivink in the TV’s browser and type the code it shows. No sign-in on the TV.
  • Share the session — a link and a QR code. Students follow in their browser — no app, no account — and can zoom in and scroll back, but can’t write.
  • Your voice, online — in an online session, students hear you as you write. In person, keep it off: the phones would echo.
  • A full hall on one link — one session link holds up to 1000 students.
  • After the session — keep the notes open for revision and the PDF, or close the link.

Live works through your account, with sync on. Every switch below is off until you turn it on, so a session that doesn’t use them runs as before.

6.1

Run your session.

Three switches decide who gets in. Each one: what you set in Live, and what a student sees on the phone.

A student limit

Up to 20 · 50 · 100 · Custom (1–1000) · No limit. When it’s reached, new students are told the session is full; everyone already here stays. Your next session starts with the limit you chose last.

A new student’s phone

A session password

Type 4 to 12 letters or numbers, or tap Make one for me for 4 digits, then Use this password. Students type it before the board opens; change it, and everyone watching is asked again. Your TV isn’t asked: you paired it yourself.

A student opening the link

Names, and your questions

Ask for a name when they join, plus up to 5 questions of your own — a short answer, a number or a choice, required or not. The phone remembers the answers.

Hear your students.

Turn on Students can ask to speak. A student taps “Ask to speak”; you decide who speaks, and when.

  • “Arjun wants to speak.” A hand appears on the corner of Live, and the request waits at the top of the Live sheet: Allow, or Not now.
  • One at a time. The student who speaks gets Mute and End from you; the others wait in a list, and “Allow next” ends the turn.
  • Who hears them: Only you, or Everyone. “Everyone” is suggested for an online session, so you don’t repeat the question; in person, only you — phones in one room would echo.

6.3

Who came.

With names on, Live keeps the attendance list as students come and go — during the session and after it.

  • Who’s here. Who joined and when, newest first; who left, dimmed, with the time; and a search for a big class.
  • Every visit. Tap a name: Joined → Left → Joined again → Here now, and how long they watched.
  • Save the list. A spreadsheet of who came, when and for how long, with a column for each of your questions — any time, during the session or after it.
  • Only you see it. Names and answers go to you alone, never to the other students. A question about a phone number or an email says so on the phone.

Every session, kept.

When a session ends it becomes a past session: when it ran, the board, the most watching at once, and its attendance list if names were asked. Each is kept until you delete it, and only you see them.

  • From your notes list. Past sessions sits at its foot, with how many you have.
  • Cards with attendance. Each session as a card: the average time watched, and who joined late, left early or came back.
  • Calendar view. The same sessions on a month; a busy day shows “8 sessions”, and opens them in a list.
  • One session, in full. The most watching at once, the attendance list, the average time watched, and who came back, joined late or left early.
  • The attendance timeline. Every student is a line and each visit a bar; a gap is time away. Show Everyone, Joined late, Left early or Came back; sort by name, first joined or minutes.

Fig. 7 — Show a website

Show a website. Write over it, live.

Screen sharing for tech tutorials, software demos and walkthroughs, made for coaches, trainers, creators and teachers. Show one of your browser tabs live on your board — a spreadsheet, a code playground, any web app — and write over it as you explain. It’s visible in your ongoing session, on every phone and the TV.

On a computer, in Chrome or Edge.

  2. 2Write over itYour pen writes right over the website, and the ink moves and resizes with the window. Clear ink takes it off. You click and type in the website’s own tab; your board follows, live.
  3. 3Its buttonsPut a picture on the page keeps the website as it is now, with your ink, to write on later. In Chrome, Scroll from here scrolls it from your board. The speaker: its sound plays in your ongoing session.
  4. 4LiveIt’s visible in your ongoing session, with your ink on top and the tab’s sound: on a phone as a card over the board, with Website · Whole board; on the TV, where you put it.

Turn it on.

It’s off until you want it. In Settings → In a session, turn on Show a website. Then it’s one more thing to put on your page: Insert → Website.

Your tab. Your sign-in.

Open the website in another tab and sign in there, as you always do. Your browser asks which tab to show; only that tab is visible in your ongoing session.

Tucked away. One click back.

Yellow minimises the window into a small chip. Drag the chip anywhere on your board; click it, and the website is back. While it’s minimised, your board shows in your ongoing session.

Recording the lesson? The window and your ink go into the video with the rest of your page — see Fig. 8.

Fig. 8 — Record
